Clamps & Spreaders for Effective Cleaning of Bone Forceps and with Ring Handles
When instruments are closed, they are closed to cleaning. Water and detergent can not reach all the surfaces of the instrument - those that are most likely to harbor contaminates. AAMI, AORN, device manufacturers and others strongly recommend that instruments be kept in an open position when cleaned, to insure maximum exposure to the cleaning solution. These band clamps, made of stainless steel with silicone covering, ensure that the joints and jaws of bone spreaders remain open. The spreader, for instruments with ring handles that cannot be dismantled, can be cleaned more efficiently in the washer-disinfector. The jaws remain open during the cleaning process, thus assuring thorough cleaning.
